Understanding Your Paid Ad Metrics

When you're running social ads—whether for one location or across an entire franchise network—knowing what your numbers actually mean is the key to making better decisions. Here's a quick guide to the six most important metrics you'll see in your Flamel analytics dashboard:

Budget
Why it matters: Your budget sets expectations. Comparing your budget to Total Ad Spend helps you stay on track and ensure you're using your resources wisely.
Total Ad Spend
This is the actual amount of money you've spent on ads during a selected time period.
Think of this as your marketing dollars in action. It reflects the real investment you've made so far.
Why it matters: It shows how much of your budget has been used—and helps you connect spending to performance.
Reach
This is the number of unique people who saw your ad.
If one person sees your ad three times, that counts as three impressions, but only one reach.
Why it matters: Reach helps you understand the size of the audience you’re connecting with. It’s especially useful for gauging brand awareness.
Impressions
This is the total number of times your ad was shown on a screen—whether or not someone actually clicked it.
One person can see the ad multiple times, so impressions can be much higher than the number of people reached.
Why it matters: High impressions mean your ad is being delivered. If impressions are high but results are low, it may be time to refresh your creative or adjust your audience.
Results
Why it matters: This is the payoff. It tells you whether your ad is doing what you intended it to do.
Result Rate
This is the percentage of impressions that led to a result.
It’s calculated as: (Results ÷ Impressions) × 100
Why it matters: A high result rate means your ad is effective. A low rate could signal creative fatigue, misaligned targeting, or unclear messaging.
